Emma Coleman
A multi-media visual artist. Works from Re-purposed objects acquired from thrift stores or alleyways. Dabbles in printmaking, graphic design, pottery, collage, laser cutting. Working from vintage magazines, Emma investigates how women are portrayed in media and how societies conception of womens’ role in the world is shaped by media and the beauty industry.
Her work is often multi-faceted; combining materials and subjects together to create pieces that provoke reflection and please the eye. She uses works from She founded Tweak’d in May 2021 as a means of getting art out from under her bed, and to exhibit her interactive installation “Internalization of the male gaze” which debuted on the internet in May 2020.
